Description
SEN Teaching Assistant
If you’re passionate about breaking barriers and building trust with pupils facing emotional and behavioural challenges, then this is your calling.
Teach Now is recruiting an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Challenging Behaviours to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2 in a resilient and inclusive primary school in Brent. This is your opportunity to change a child’s entire school experience – one day at a time.
What Makes This Role Different?
• No two days are the same – work 1:1 or in small groups to support students who need you the most.
• Creative interventions encouraged – this school values thinking outside the box to help children self-regulate.
• Genuine teamwork – you’ll be part of a pastoral and SEN team that has each other’s backs.
• Impact you can see – celebrate small wins that turn into lifelong growth.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
• Have experience working with pupils with SEMH, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
• Know how to de-escalate situations with empathy and structure.
• Can work closely with teachers, behaviour mentors, and external agencies.
• Are patient, emotionally intelligent, and resilient in high-pressure moments.
• Have training in Team Teach, MAPA, or similar (preferred but not essential).
What’s in It for You?
• A chance to make a real, lasting difference in a child’s life.
• Ongoing training and development in behaviour support and trauma-informed practice.
• A supportive senior leadership team that understands the complexities of this role.
• Easy access to the school via public transport in Brent.
