SEN Teaching Assistant

Teach Now is seeking an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Specialist) to join a fantastic primary school in Enfield. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone with experience in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, who thrives in a setting where every day brings new challenges and rewards.

About the Role: SEN Teaching Assistant:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support children with ASD on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them engage with the curriculum.

• Implement individualised learning plans and use a variety of communication methods, including PECS and Makaton (experience desirable).

• Assist in managing sensory needs and emotional regulation, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment.

• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide the best support.

• Encourage social development and independence through structured activities and play-based learning.

SEN Teaching Assistant Applicants Should:

• Have experience working with children with Autism and other SEN needs.

• Be patient, adaptable, and resilient, with a passion for SEN support.

• Have knowledge of visual timetables, sensory strategies, and behaviour management techniques.

• Be able to build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

• Hold an Enhanced DBS check (or be willing to obtain one).
