SEN Teaching Assistant – Greenwich – ASAP Start

Location: Greenwich (Nearest Station: Maze Hill)
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: ASAP

A supportive and inclusive primary school in Greenwich is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is perfect for a compassionate and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

Work 1:1 and in small groups with students who have SEN, including ASD and ADHD
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
Implement EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) strategies to support individual student needs
Encourage social and emotional development through positive reinforcement
Support children with sensory or communication difficulties
Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to track progress

Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:

Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, or Learning Support Assistant
A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare, education, or a related field (desirable)
Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language needs, or SEMH
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
A valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one
