SEN Teaching Assistant

Join a nurturing secondary school in Harrow as a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant – start September 2025

Are you passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? Are you calm, supportive, and ready to step into a fulfilling part-time role in a welcoming school community?

A forward-thinking secondary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This part-time, permanent position (3–4 days per week) offers the chance to work closely with pupils who need extra support to thrive—particularly those with autism, behavioural needs, and speech and language difficulties.

You’ll be working alongside experienced classroom teachers and the school’s SENCO to plan and deliver effective 1:1 and small group interventions. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that all students—regardless of their learning needs—can confidently access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

This is more than just a support role—it’s a chance to become a trusted mentor and advocate for students who need it most.

What we’re looking for

• Experience supporting children with SEN, either in schools or similar settings
• Confidence working with pupils with autism, behavioural challenges, or speech and language difficulties
• A calm, patient, and proactive approach
• A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)

Why apply

• Join a school that truly values diversity and inclusion
• Work part-time with flexibility (3–4 days per week)
• Be part of a supportive and experienced SEN team
• Long-term stability in a permanent role
