Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – ASC/D Unit
Location: Oldham
Start Date: 24th February 2025
Contract: Full-time, Until End of Academic Year
Salary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next rewarding role? We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN TA to support students within an Autism Spectrum Condition/Disorder (ASC/D) unit in a welcoming school in Oldham. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in special educational needs (SEN) to make a real difference in children’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Provide tailored support to students with ASC/D in a specialist unit
✅ Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons
✅ Implement Team Teach strategies to manage behavior effectively
✅ Support students’ emotional, social, and academic development
✅ Encourage independence and positive learning experiences
✅ Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide holistic support

Requirements:

✔ Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (TA) in a school setting (preferred)
✔ Understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition/Disorder (ASC/D)
✔ Team Teach training is highly desirable
✔ A proactive and patient approach to working with SEN students
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
