SEND Teaching Assistants Needed

Hackney & surrounding boroughs

Start Date: September 2024

Salary: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

A number of special educational needs (SEND) schools in Hackney and nearby boroughs are currently recruiting for SEND Teaching Assistants. These roles range from flexible daily supply work to short-term and long-term positions. The schools support a wide variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (Child and Adult), or willingness to apply for one
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within an SEND setting
  • Understanding of SEND and proven experience in supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong classroom management skills, curriculum knowledge, and effective communication
  • Flexible, adaptable, and compassionate personality
