Job Title: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Poulton-Le-Fylde, LancashireContract Type: Full-Time – 3 weeks (until half-term)Start Date: 27/01/2025

Job Description:We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis in Poulton-Le-Fylde. This role involves working Monday to Friday providing essential support to students with special educational needs (SEN). It’s an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a flexible role with an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support student with SEN inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group assistance, helping children engage with the curriculum and make progress.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Help manage behaviour and encourage positive social and emotional development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
