About the role: We are looking for a committed, patient, and calm individual to join a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Enfield, North London, where supporting children with special educational needs is at the heart of everything we do. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have varied needs and Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs). Your role will involve providing essential one-on-one support to students, helping them access the curriculum, develop essential skills, and gain confidence in a safe and structured setting. Application Requirements:
• Prior experience working with children with special educational needs is mandatory.• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance, Learning Support, or a related field is preferred.• Confidence, patience, and an adaptable approach when supporting children with varied needs.• Experience in working with children who have EHCPs is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support for children, ensuring each pupil’s individual needs are met.• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SEN team to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.• Implement EHCPs effectively, adapting learning materials and activities as necessary to support each child’s development.• Foster a calm, patient, and positive atmosphere where children feel valued and motivated to engage in learning.• Support with daily classroom activities, encouraging positive interactions and engagement.
