Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the patience, dedication, and enthusiasm to help young learners thrive? We are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Salford.

About the Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting students with SEND in both one-to-one and small group settings.

*

Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.

*

Supporting students with communication, sensory, or behavioural challenges.

*

Encouraging independence and confidence in the classroom.

*

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

*

Assisting with personal care tasks when required (if applicable).

*

Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive individual who:

Has previous experience working with children with SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, or physical disabilities).

*

Is patient, understanding, and committed to supporting students with additional needs.

*

Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

*

Can use a range of strategies to support emotional regulation and behaviour management.

*

Holds a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care, or SEND-related training) – desirable but not essential.

Has an understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

*

Possesses a valid DBS check or is willing to obtain one.
