Key Responsibilities of SEND Teaching Assistant (TA):

Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with SEND to tailor educational activities and resources to meet their specific needs.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SpLD, Dyslexia, Autism and ADHD
Monitor and assess students’ progress, provide feedback to teachers, and adjust support strategies as necessary.
Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting students’ learning and well-being.
Help foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and included.
Employ different instructional techniques and materials to cater to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
Keep detailed notes on students’ development and communicate this information to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements of a SEND Teaching Assistant (TA):

Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
Show a deep commitment to helping students with SEND by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
Additional qualifications or training in special education are advantageous but not mandatory, providing you with additional skills and knowledge to support students with SEND effectively.
To work with GSL Education as a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will need:

Have the right to work in the UK.
Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
