Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a ‘Good’ rated Primary School in Quinton. This school is a 2-form entry school who aim to create a nurturing and supportive environment, ensuring children are known, loved and well-taught.

Our client is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a part-time basis, on Monday and Friday, starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the academic year. This role would be a 1-1 position, supporting a Year 1 child with SEND. In this role you would include feeding back to the SENCo and class teacher on the progress of the child.

The responsibilities of this SEND Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Provide 1-1 support for a child with SEND in Key Stage 1 (KS1).
  • Assist with adapting National Curriculum lessons to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment in line with school policies.
  • Record and track student progress, offering feedback and support.
  • Build a trusting relationship with the child, providing emotional and educational support.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
  • Previous experience in a UK school is essential.
  • Proven experience as a SEND TA offering 1-1 support.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and Key Stage 1 (KS1) framework.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers and SENCO.
