Description
East London Housing Association requires a determined, persistent and adaptable SENIOR MENTAL HEALTH RECOVERY WORKER.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Work alongside the staff team to create and maintain a welcome and safe environment
– Provide expertise in mental health, alcohol and drug misuse
– Build trusting, supportive relationships with service users with dual diagnosis/complex needs
– Carry a case load of at least 5 cases
– Interview and book in new referrals
– Carry out initial needs assessments with recovery workers
– Undertake needs and risk assessments
– Facilitate peer support group activities
COMPETENCIES INCLUDE:
– Good knowledge of mental health, alcohol and drug misuse, their effects and treatment options
– Solid experience working with this client group and knowledge of Care Programme Approach (CPA) processes
– Understanding of main medications used to treat mental health problems
– Working knowledge of Recovery model and delivering support within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE)
– Ability to work with other agencies to ensure that integrated support services are provided
– Knowledge and practical application of adult safeguarding needs
– Understanding of Health and Safety in a hostel setting and dealing with emergencies alone
– Work within a rota system including nights and weekends and lead on a shift
