Senior Support Worker

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team, providing high-quality care and support to individuals in a supported living environment. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in enhancing the lives of people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or other complex needs, helping them to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support to individuals in their homes, assisting with personal care, daily activities, and promoting independence.
- Lead and mentor a team of support workers, offering guidance and ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individual care plans, risk assessments, and person-centred support strategies.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of individuals by following safeguarding procedures and CQC guidelines.
- Support the management team with administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate records and completing reports.
- Be a positive role model for staff, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.
- Participate in staff training and development, ensuring the team has the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent care.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working in a support or care environment, ideally within a senior or supervisory role.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- A compassionate and person-centred approach to care.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
- The ability to manage time effectively and work flexibly.
Desirable:
- Experience in working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues, or challenging behaviours.
- A Level 4/5 qualification in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Medication administration experience.
