Special Needs Teaching Assistant – SEN School
Location: Leeds
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Long-term (Full academic year), with potential for a permanent contract
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Term time only)
Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic SEN school starting in September 2025. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to support students with autism and additional learning needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role:
Provide tailored support to students with autism and additional learning needs.
Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging, supportive lessons.
Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive learning environment.
Implement strategies to support students with communication, social, and sensory needs.
Foster independence and confidence in students through personalised support.Requirements:
✅ Experience working with children with autism in an educational setting is essential.
✅ A passion for supporting children with SEN to reach their full potential.
✅ Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
✅ A proactive and patient approach to working with children with diverse needs.
✅ Relevant qualifications or training (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEND training) are desirable but not required.
