SANZA Teaching Agency are seeking a special needs (SEN) teaching assistant. The role will be working in a KS3 (year 7/ year 8) class. The students all have severe learning difficulties (SLD)

The role is full-time.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The school caters to students aged from Reception to Year 14 who have moderate to severe and complex learning difficulties as a primary need or as a dual diagnosis to their medical, sensory and/or physical needs.

The school prides itself on a warm and supportive staff environment where teachers always work in collaboration and as a team. The school is an innovative and fun place for students to learn and thrive in a safe and supportive environment, where independence is prioritised.

The school also has a fabulous SEMH team, and behaviour mentors.

As a teaching assistant working with special needs (SEN)

Strong, confident and caring
Have a keen interest in positively impacting the lives of young people with special needs
Be willing to work with challenging behaviour
Being flexible and willing to take on all challenges
Have experience in a special needs (SEN) setting

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

Provide dedicated support in all classes, helping student’s access learning materials and fully engage in activities
Encourage social interaction
Assist with behaviour management
Work closely with the school’s inclusion team to implement individualized strategies
Provide support to classroom teacher
