Job Title: Stock Controller
Location: Bridgwater
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am-5pm

Our well established client in Bridgwater have an exciting opportunity for a Stock Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.

Summary of Position:
Through a persistent pursuit of excellence the stock controller will accurately get the right part to the right
place/person at the right time. The role requires stock quality to be kept at a high level through the quick and efficient processing of goods in dispatches out and the overall management of stock movement through the business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Booking in of all deliveries, ensuring they match the purchase order and carrying out basic inspection checks against drawings where required.
  • Ensuring all stock goes into the right locations with the correct labelling and packaging.
  • Picking of customer sales orders and packing adequately and carefully so they are ready for dispatch.
  • Liaising with the sales team to ensure swift processing of dispatch notes, booking of shipments and approval invoices so goods are sent on time.
  • Picking of works orders and free issue stock for the manufacturing team and other subcontractors.
  • Issuing of works orders that are clearly labelled for the manufacturing area.
  • Booking completed works orders back in to stock quickly and ensure good records are kept.
  • Carry out minor assembly operations for works orders that can be done within stores.
  • Maintain the record keeping system for all dispatches out of the business and support requests for delivery updates.
  • Conducting regular stock takes to ensure stock accuracy maintains high.
  • Proudly keep the stores area clean and organised to a standard that adheres with the health and safety procedures of the business.
  • Support colleagues with any reasonable request that relates to stock in a way that is flexible and helpful.
  • Willingly partake in wider company initiatives and provide constructive suggestions for improvements where possible.
  • Facilitate an easy and well documented returns process for all sales and purchase returns.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in stores / warehouse environment
  • Be a good team player, able to establish and develop relationships
  • Must be adaptable to assist in all areas with a flexible approach
  • Have previous experience in checking goods inwards/ outwards
  • Can work under pressure, multitask, work to deadlines and have a high level of attention to detail
  • Work using own initiative.

Desirable

  • Relevant qualification in this field
  • A knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word and Excel
  • A clean, tidy, well organised stockroom area.
  • Inventory control
  • Logistical experience within stores environment
  • Experience in inventory systems
  • Logistics/transport qualification
  • Customer focused with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Ability to use measurement equipment for quality control checks.
