Description

At Erskine Waterfront Campus, we believe that every child has the potential to thrive. Our school is dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 8-18 with Complex Additional Support Needs (ASN), offering a nurturing and flexible learning environment that is tailored to their unique requirements. With 36 spaces available, our goal is to provide personalised education through motivating experiences that help each pupil achieve their full potential.

Our approach is centred on the individual, working closely with each young person to identify their goals and create a personalised plan that supports their learning journey. We offer a mix of subject-based and interdisciplinary learning, ensuring that whether pupils are working in a group, as a class, or individually, they are receiving the support they need. At Erskine Waterfront Campus, we are committed to helping every learner develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need for the future.

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive in a school environment? We are seeking a dedicated, warm and compassionate Support for Learning Practitioner to join our team, working Monday to Friday from 09:30 – 15:30 during term time. In this role, you’ll provide crucial support across the school curriculum, helping pupils build strong relationships and overcome any challenges they may face, using our PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy).

Your role will include assisting with learning activities, promoting positive behaviours, and offering emotional support to those who need it. You’ll also play a key part in maintaining a therapeutic environment, contributing to the well-being and development of every child. You’ll be part of a close team for support but often lone working 1:1 with pupils both inside and out of the classroom environment. With a relational approach you can help pupils regulate and help them be the best they can be.

We are looking for someone who is resilient, reliable, and has a genuine commitment to supporting young people. Experience working with children is essential, and knowledge of attachment theory is a plus. Basic computer skills and a full driving licence is required, and you will be willing to actively engage in professional development.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life’s challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
