Active Care Groups Care in the Home division continues to go from strength to strength ensuring we provide a safe, reliable and outcome-based care to all clients by our exceptional support workers, clinicians, and management team.

Please note we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role and therefore will not be able to progress any candidates who require a certificate of sponsorship to work in the UK.

We are looking to recruit experienced, highly motivated, and proactive Support Workers in theTower Hamletsarea of London to support our lovelymale client with a spinal cord injury in their own home. This will involve supporting with personal care, medication and moving and handling.

We provide asector leading 2 week induction which will include staying away from home for 5 days, we will cover the cost of travel and accommodation. During this time you will have both face to face training with our clinicians and complete online courses to ensure you are confident in the care you provide.

When you’ll be working:

  • Day and Night Shifts available
  • Weekdays and Weekends
  • 8am – 8pm / 8pm – 8am
  • Full time or Part Time considered but must be able to work a 12 hour shifts

What you will be doing:

  • Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems
  • Liaise with and support the family as required
  • Assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained
  • Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
  • Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records
  • Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client
  • Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate

What you’ll have:

  • A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible
  • Previous experience of working with individuals with a spinal injury is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
