Secondary Teaching Assistant – SEN Support – Dagenham
Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in East London to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs.
This is an ideal role for someone with a passion for SEN who is looking to make a long-term impact by supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social development across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of SEN needs including ASD, ADHD and SEMH
* Assist students in accessing learning and developing independence across the school day
* Work closely with the SENCo to implement EHCPs, learning targets and behaviour support strategies
* Support students both in and out of class, promoting inclusion and engagement
* Assist with personal development, emotional regulation and pastoral support where required
* Track and monitor student progress and contribute to review meetings
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience supporting young people with SEN in a secondary school setting
* A strong understanding of inclusive practice and behaviour support
* The ability to build trusting relationships with students who require additional support
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills, especially with SENCo and wider staff
* A proactive, calm and compassionate approach to working with learners
