TeacherActive are proud to be working with a Primary School in the Port Talbot area who wish to appoint an excellent and highly talented Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support and deliver high quality learning opportunities for our pupils on a full-time basis in September. The succcessful candidate will join a highly skilled team of early years practitioners.You will work with the class teacher to contribute to the planning, the delivery and to evaluate pupil progress within a progressive, skill-based programme for learning within the early years. You will also be passionate about working with their parents and wider school community to support transition into and home from school.
The appointed candidate will be enthusiastic about working with their youngest children, able to support strategies aimed at maximising pupils’ skills and well-being, be a good communicator and a committed team member. You must be caring, flexible and approachable for our staff, pupils and parents in order to help motivate learners to succeed. You must be able to maintain a positive, supportive learning environment and show the ability to work collaboratively with our whole team to benefit our children.
This position will start in January for a term initially and it will be reviewed 31st March 2025
TeacherActive are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate:
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent OR relevant professional experience
Evidence of ongoing and relevant in-service training
Work experience
Experience of working within a school environment (minimum of 6 months experience)
Experience of working alongside pupils with behavioural difficulties
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work under the direction of a classroom teacher.
Ability to modify behaviour to support pupils
Ability to work / engage with SEN pupils
Ability to work under own initiative and also as part of a team.
Ability to keep a record of events as appropriate to include work completed, behaviour and general comments.
Ability to develop good personal relationships within a team.
Ability to develop effective relationships with individual children.
Good organisational skills
Ability to run a range of interventions with individual pupils
