Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer. – THE ROLE – The role will involve working in a variety of Finance teams within the Finance Department, on a rotational basis, to gain experience across the main finance functions. This will include supporting teams in the operation of finance systems, in accordance with the policies and procedures of the relevant work area. The main finance areas will include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fees, General Ledger and Fixed Assets. You will undertake a Higher-Level Apprenticeship (HLA) in Accountancy one day per week during term time. This is a work-based programme which enables you to earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised professional qualification. – ABOUT YOU – – Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following minimum entry criteria set by the awarding body, Accounting Technicians Ireland: – 3 A Levels (Grades AC), or equivalent – GCSE Grade B in Maths or Accountancy – GCSE Grade C in English – For those applicants over 23 years of age, the minimum criteria above do not apply. Instead, applicants must have relevant work experience or a recommendation from their employer. – Experience in using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook. – Willingness to travel and undertake occasional work outside normal office hours, as required by the needs of the post.
