Description

Calling all night owls, are you looking for a rewarding career where you can make a difference but restricted during the day? If you share our values, we want to hear from you!!

We have an exciting opportunity for caring and understanding individuals with a pro-active nature to join our team in East Dunbartonshire as Waking Night Support Practitioners on a full-time basis (39 hours per week).

You don’t need experience in care to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We’ll give you all the training you need to be an amazing Support Practitioner along with the opportunity to complete a fully funded SVQ.

The Role

You will be joining our friendly and dynamic team who work between our dispersed service supporting individuals in the Kirkintilloch community and a young lady who is moving into her first home in Lenzie. The people we support have a range of different needs including Autism, learning and physical disabilities, complex needs and behaviours of concern.

As a Waking Night Support Practitioner, your responsibilities will include conducting regular check-ins with the individual you support, in line with established protocols throughout the night. You will provide assistance as needed, including support with personal care, administering medication, conducting health and safety checks and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. Additionally, you will offer emotional support, handle administrative tasks and carry out other key working responsibilities as required.

While this is a waking night role, there will be times we will need you to be available during the day to attend training and build relationships with the individuals we support.

To be part of our team, we’ll need you to:

  • Have an empathetic and caring nature.
  • Good observation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in using computers.
  • Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
  • Good organisational skills.

Shift Patterns

Our waking night shifts run from 10pm until 8am the following day.
