Job Overview
Our client is a manufacturer who is looking to recruit a dedicated and reliable Yard Operative to join their team on a temporary to permanet basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the yard and ensuring that all equipment and materials are organised and accessible for the production operation. This role requires a proactive individual who can communicate effectively. A valid driving licence is essential, as the position may involve driving various vehicles including flatbeds and vans.
Responsibilities
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard area, ensuring all materials are stored safely.
* Operate yard equipment and machinery as required, demonstrating mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues.
* Assist with loading and unloading materials from delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.
* Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
* Drive flatbed lorries or vans for deliveries as needed, adhering to all safety regulations.
* Support warehouse operations by assisting with inventory management and stock replenishment.
* Painting and Spraying finished items
Requirements
* Valid driving licence is essential; experience as a delivery driver or commercial driving is advantageous.
* A Forklift license would be advantageous as would previous spraying or painting experience.
* Ability to communicate clearly with team members and management.
* Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment is preferred but not mandatory.
* Must be physically fit, able to lift heavy items, and work in various weather conditions.
