TimePlan Education is currently seeking a confident and experienced Year 6 Teaching Assistant, ideally with Special Educational Needs (SEN) experience, to join a welcoming primary school team in Surbiton. This is a full-time role in a key year of academic and personal development for pupils.
About the Role:
Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate lessons for Year 6 pupils.
Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs, particularly for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Help foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes resilience, emotional regulation, and academic success.
Build strong relationships with children, offering pastoral and academic support during this important transitional year.
Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure a joined-up approach to pupil progress and wellbeing.
Support personal development and social skills to help pupils become confident and independent learners.The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting children in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
Be confident working with pupils who have additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, or SEMH.
Understand and confidently work with EHCPs, adapting resources and approaches accordingly.
Demonstrate a caring, patient and empathetic approach to pupil development.
Ideally have experience with personal care (if applicable), or be willing to support where necessary.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
