Description

Set quality standards and deliver continuous improvement:

  • Maintain up to date, detailed knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory guidance
  • Undertake service visits, identifying any areas of concern and setting out actions required to rectify
  • Implement continuous improvement methods to constantly improve service delivery
  • Help Branch Manager Prepare for inspections by statutory bodies
  • Seek and manage feedback from customers and others, including complaints in partnership with the Area Manager.

Develop new services:

  • Oversee the start up of new services ensuring thorough assessment, support and planning.
  • Participate with the Management Team in the modernisation of services and seek opportunities to create more personalised approaches to support
  • Maximise occupancy of existing services

Line management of service managers and their teams:

  • Work within Rainbow Services (UK) Ltd policies and procedures and ensure compliance throughout the workforce
  • Provide effective supervision to Homecarers and Senior Homecarers and support them to do the same within their teams
  • Conduct annual appraisals of staff in conjunction with the Branch Manager.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and selection of staff in line with equalities legislation, and ensure adequate induction and management of probationary periods
  • Utilise performance management methods to promote best practice, efficiency and effectiveness, and deal with under performance and poor practice
  • Assist in the Operation of Rainbow Services (UK) Ltd disciplinary and grievance procedures when necessary
  • Take direction from the Branch Manager and Operations Director and complete tasks to agreed deadlines and quality standards


Staff development and training:

  • Identify staff training and development needs
  • Liaise with the Branch Manager to plan to meet training needs
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Homecarers and delegate work assignments to develop knowledge and skills

Manage service budgets:

  • Monitor expenditure against service budgets
  • Overview the monthly summary reports to ensure services are being provided at the level commissioned and remain financially viable
  • Identify anomalies or variances and action plan to correct

Represent the organisation:

  • Promote Rainbow Services (UK) Ltd to customers and commissioners from Health and Social Care Partnerships
  • Participate in meetings with statutory agencies as required

Promote choice and control for clients

  • At all times support the rights and choices of our clients
  • Enable the involvement of clients in all aspects of their service
  • Work collaboratively with advocates, families and professionals to ensure that the best possible support is delivered
  • Establish working practices that respect the autonomy of the client and seek to promote independence and inclusion
  • Uphold an anti-discriminatory approach to service delivery

Safeguarding:

  • Promote good practice in relation to safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Respond to and manage any safeguarding concerns raised using the relevant multiagency protocols

Health and safety:

  • Ensure that robust health and safety arrangements are in place in the services
  • Constantly monitor, review and adjust health and safety arrangements in required

Manage premises:

  • Ensure that any maintenance, fire safety or security issues in premises owned or operated by Rainbow Services (UK) Ltd are systematically identified and addressed
  • Liaise with the Area Manager and Directors regarding any necessary expenditure

Other:

  • Undertake any other duties deemed appropriate by the Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Operations Director or Managing Director
  • Personally carryout shifts in case of emergency
