That’s because a stroke happens in the brain, the control centre for who we are and what we can do. It happens every five minutes in the UK and changes lives instantly. Help us rebuild them and join our team. We developed a bold new corporate strategy so that we can rebuild more lives after stroke and make a bigger difference to people’s lives. If you would like to support stroke survivors to rebuild their lives, we want to hear from you!We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Wales Locality Impact team to support our work with volunteers, communities and colleagues across south Wales and in supporting people affected by stroke to provide the voice of lived experience. Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Volunteer Manager will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against engagement and volunteering activity, including managing relationships with the Stroke Association voluntary led support groups, recruiting, training and managing volunteers and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including service providers, groups, partners, stroke survivors and carers in the locality.Key responsibilities will include:Supporting volunteer recruitment and managing volunteers  Support stroke survivors to be able to take part in a range of different opportunities to provide the voice of lived experience.Building and maintaining key relationships with key stakeholders Enabling peer support and sustaining stroke communities to flourish in the localityYou will have experience/understanding ofManaging and developing volunteersWorking in partnership with other organisations, including in community health and social care, and voluntary sectorWorking with and supporting a wide range of stakeholdersDeveloping support using co-production with service usersSupporting groups and developing networksThis role requires frequent travel across the south Wales geographical region.
