Volunteer Manager

We provide tailored support to tens of thousands of stroke survivors each year. If you have questions, or access needs, we’re happy to discuss any support and adjustments we can make throughout the recruitment process so that you’re able to contribute your best in a way that meets your needs.We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Wales Locality Impact team to support our work with volunteers, communities and colleagues across mid and west Wales and in supporting people affected by stroke to provide the voice of lived experience.Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Volunteer Manager will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against engagement and volunteering activity, including managing relationships with the Stroke Association voluntary led support groups, recruiting, training and managing volunteers and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including service providers, groups, partners, stroke survivors and carers in the locality.Key responsibilities will include:Supporting volunteer recruitment and managing volunteers.Support stroke survivors to be able to take part in a range of different opportunities to provide the voice of lived experience.Building and maintaining key relationships with key stakeholders.Enabling peer support and sustaining stroke communities to flourish in the locality.You will have experience/understanding of:Managing and developing volunteers.Working in partnership with other organisations, including in community health and social care, and voluntary sector.Working with and supporting a wide range of stakeholders.Developing support using co-production with service users.Supporting groups and developing networks.This role requires frequent travel across the mid and west Wales geographical region. Assertive Outreach Practitioner

GDAS – Assertive Outreach PractitionerSalary: £25,750.00 per annumContract: FTC 31st March 2027Hours: full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Weekend and evening work required, as neededLocation: Powells Place, NewportClosing date: 10/04/2025Under supervision of the Assertive Outreach Team Leader, the post holder will work as partof the multi-disciplinary outreach team to support the delivery of recovery care plans for clients with a range of mental health, substance use presentations and housing needs in the community and facilitating appointments in the community and signposting.This will include targeted wrap around substance use support that seeks to preventhomelessness andmaintainaccommodation. They will be vital in liaising with professionals; ensuring substance use and other appointments are flexible to need and providing harm reduction advice, brief interventions and signposting into voluntary and statutory substance misuse services according to need.They will have working knowledge and experience of both drug and alcohol detoxification and treatment programmes with an understanding of holistic aspects of care.
